Women have not traditionally been seen in the role of dealing in the provision of security services. This is often due to the perceived physical nature of conflict resolution. This view is also reinforced by recent press, which highlights that in the majority of cases men are at the center of most disputes, therefore the perception is that men are required to deal with these situations.

This is where our dynamic team proves their worth - as with all problems, the best way to deal with them is to prevent them from arising in the first place and if they do happen the best way to resolve it is to talk it through and defuse the situation quickly. U-nome Security Communication Specialists are focused on using the softer approach, negotiation skills and other methods to help address situations.

Feedback from venues, event organisers and community leaders has been very positive and supportive of using more females in crowd control roles. It does change the dynamics in many situations and can help to stop situations escalating especially in situations where men are becoming aggressive. In these situations, men are less likely to see females as a target for their agression and are more likely to co-operate.
